The Best Use of Dry Ice in Your Ice Cooler Box

The next time you plan for a trip or outing, you might be interested in carrying your ice cooler along with some dry ice packs. You'd love to have some chilled beer being on your trip, after all.

What? You've never used dry ice before? Well, get ready for an amazing surprise then! When you use dry ice packs in your cooler, you're likely to keep your perishable items chilled and fresh for a longer period of time. No matter how long you've been on your trip, you'll always access to fresh good and chilled beverages.

But, you must be careful!

Of course, dry ice is very useful for keeping perishable items fresh and chilled, however, it needs to handled with extreme caution. Unlike regular ice (a frozen state of water), dry ice (a frozen state of carbon dioxide) should always be wrapped in some cloth, or towel. You should, in fact, wear gloves when you handle it. Remember, regular ice turns into liquid, but dry ice slowly dissipates into gas.
Methods to use dry ice in your cooler

#1: In this first method, line the bottom of the cooler with dry ice. Now, instead of placing your food or beverages, place a piece of cardboard with some holes into it. Now, place all your perishable items on this cardboard. Here's a tip: place those items first that should be frozen. Store rest of supplies that need to be refrigerated on the frozen items.

#2: This method is just the inverse of the first one. Fill your cooler with your food and beverages first and then, place over them a piece of cardboard, newspaper, or towel. After covering your supplies, place dry ice on top of everything.

Note: Unlike regular ice that turns into water, dry ice takes up a wide room when it turns into gas. All your perishable items are likely to be chilled, just make sure you've the best ice cooler box with an air tight lid.
