You must have one of some type of outdoor activities, including camping, beach getaways, fishing, and so on. You certainly don't have the best ice chest cooler and that's why you're reading this blog. Right?
Do you know the best part? You're at the right place! Just be with us and find out how to buy the best ice chest cooler.
So, let's begin…
#1 Determine Your Needs
(Wondering, how lame it is? After all, everybody knows about it.) Of course, the sole purpose is to keep drinks and eatables cool for a long time, but you've to think out of the box here. Ask yourself – do you need it for fishing or camping? Or, do you just want it to keep your items chilled on the sunny beach? Maybe choosing an ice chest cooler that is flexible enough to be used for different occasions is good. Take two things into account - (i) insulation performance, and (ii) durability.
Insulation: Keep the future aspects in mind and think – how often will you use it? And, what would be the toughest condition, where you'll use it? To be very honest, you should prefer to choose a high-end cooler; after all, it'll serve you at its best not only in the harsh conditions, but also in lesser demanding situations. Remember, there are coolers that can hold ice only for 3-4 hours, while others can have the best ice retention property that lasts for several days.
Durability: The second most important thing is toughness or durability. Make sure the ice chest cooler you're planning to buy is capable enough to even withstand the harsh temperature or weather conditions. For this, focus on its physical features and ensure it has a dual seal airlock system, stainless steel latches, heavy duty dairy basket, corrosion resistant axle & wheels, integrated anchor points, and solid elevation feet to prevent radiant heat from the ground.
#2: Size Really Matters
The size of the ice chest cooler you choose matters. It doesn't only affect the insulation performance, but also, defines the portability system as a whole. While big coolers are ideal for keeping things chilled for a longer time than small ones, they're difficult to take around. Remember, taking a medium-sized cooler, which is fully loaded with the ice is far better than taking a large-sized cooler, which is half empty.
To pick the right size, think of the number of days and people you need it for. Additionally, make sure that your car has enough space to carry it easily.

#3 Easy is Better
The ice chest cooler you choose should be easy to open, fill, pack/unpack, drain and close. That's what you'll be doing with it no matter where you go. If the cooler you're interested in buying drains manually, I suggest you to look for another one. After all, nobody likes to pick up the cooler to drain the water out. Your cooler should have drain holes instead. These drain holes will let the water drain out of the cooler. But, make sure the drain holes aren't too big or too small.
That's all, I hope you enjoyed this post and you'll definitely consider all the above mentioned points when buying an ice chest cooler.
